A Practical Guide
By Soh Lip San, Sim Chee Siong, Ho Chye Hoon, Wong Tjen Wee and Tan Yu Inn
Given the relative infancy of the Workplace Safety and Health Act ('WSHA'), there is a dearth of literature that introduces and addresses the WSHA.
This book hence aims to provide a guidepost as well as a practitical approach for the layman to understand their duties and obligations under the WSHA.
On a deeper level, this book would serve as an introduction to the general body of relevant case law and represents a concerted effort to explain basic concepts and issues. Hopefully, it will also provoke the interest of readers and motive deeper probing into the area of workplace safety and health.
The authors of this book are currently legal practitioners from one of Singapore's largest law firms, Rajah & Tann. They are part of the firm's Project & Infrastructure Practice Group, which has extensive experience and focus on, amongst others, construction, infrastructure and engineering projects. The expertise of the Projects & Infrastructure Practice Group in these practice areas was also recognised recently when it was awarded the 'Construction Law Firm of the Year' by the Asian Legal Business Awards in 2006. As a firm, Rajah & Tann have also received other accolades including winning the International Law Office Client Choice Award 2006.
