About the Author

Dr Tan Lay Hong, LLB (NUS), LLM (London), PhD (NUS), was formerly a professor of law at Nanyang Business School, NTU, specialising in business and corporate law and governance. She has published articles in top-tier journals such as International and Comparative Law Quarterly, The Journal of Corporate Law Studies and The Australian Law Journal, which are still cited by many scholars today. She has co-authored books on Chinese business and corporate law, corporate governance in Singapore and corporate finance in Singapore with practising lawyers. Her PhD thesis was a cross-disciplinary study on law, economics, politics and culture of family firms in Singapore. She has been invited as a speaker in seminars and conferences on ethics and corporate governance issues.
